Thalía (In private collection)

pronounced Ta-Leah. This is my second Lagoona repaint.
I think I totally give up on taking good pictures, it seems like the pictures I took in room lighting with no flash came out better
than these. You can't even see the pearlex shimmer on her face or her tiny little freckles unless you focus, lol. Anyway.

I think I am gonna work on my photography skills... hehehe. ♥

~ ♥ What her new owner had to say about her ♥ ~

She is gorgeous and I do love her!! Your talent continues to
astound me! You don't miss a detail in your painting!

The photos don't do the work justice. You can see the emotion in the dolls eyes very clearly compared to that of the original. The addition of the stick on eyelashes really added to the depth of her face. The removal of the original earrings also added to a better look to the character, although the character's earrings make for a good conversation piece, the ones you put on her looked far better then the ones the default came with.

My only suggestion to make this better would be to photograph the hair better, you really can't get the whole effect without the addition of the hair.

Other then that small thing, I really think you did a fantastic job with the doll. Keep up the good work :)

I love the repaint! I'm going to start making some customs myself. How did you manage to remove the molded underwear that the dolls have? Did you just sand it down?

Yes, she was sanded down & it's a BEOTCH to do, lol. I think I should've kept my dremel.

I realized that quickly when I started sanding down my dolls xD But I like it. I missed when dolls didn't have to be so modest.

Yeah, me too. I don't know who's bright idea it was to put underwear on them in this day & age.
If Barbie didn't need them, why do MH? :/

This has encouraged me to get a Lagoona. I haven't yet because I didn't like her bug-eyes. This Lagoona is adorable.

Just giving my two cents: My best pictures come when I am outside, but in the shade. I don't have any posted on DA but they come out sharp and pick up a lot of details

Thank you. I love lagoona, but one of the reasons I like her so much
is because of her eyes. I hope to make a total different look with her
for my next repaint than I've done so far.

Yeah, my older pictures like for tonner girls, they're better
because I used to be able to take them outside, now I live in an
apartment on the second floor & I have a little one, so it's not
so easy anymore. I have to make do with a window, lol.
I think people would think I am crazy if they saw me outside taking pictures
of my dolls around the apartment complex, lol.
Though I am considering setting up the balcony to take pictures, there's
just not enough sunlight there though. ♥

Wow. Very Impressive. Love the shading and the eyelashes are great.
Would you be up for making a tutorial on rooting eyelashes?

Wow! I love your paint work!
What kind of paints do you use?
and how long do the repaints you do take?

Thank you very much. I use golden fluid acrylics & liquitex soft body. A repaint can take me anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, this one was a bit time consuming because I had to sand her body to make her permanent undies disappear, lol. ♥
